Sun Storagetek Common Array Manager Software 6.5 Download
The version of CAM for Solaris that you have may work fine if: (1) You cannot run the recommended versions of OS and F/W; (2) You have a valid support contract with Sun StorageTek; (3) You are running the OS Release that is in use on your array. In the case of a contract, CAM may run OK if you are near to 100% utilization of your array.
This plugin checks the alarm directory of a SUN Storagetek Common Array Manager. The CAM is a management software for SUN StorEdge 6130 and SUN StorageTek 6140 and 6540 Storage arrays. Warnings and failures of the managed systems will be written as files into the alarm directory. The check_sstcam plugin reads this directory periodically and forwards newly reported alerts to Nagios. Documentation Usually the plugin is called without any parameters:
If the CAM is not in the list, make sure the plugin is loaded into the "commons" config file, and that you have entered the appropriate hostname and password. You will then be able to enter an alert, run a remote command, or download new file entries in the alarm directory.
The access permissions are configured on the individual nodes on the storage array. There is a set of 'Container' permissions that the array will ensure are set on all the appropriate nodes. The following screen shows a typical Sun StorageTek SCST storage array with four nodes.
In the example below, we have two path entries from the SunStorage 6000. The first path is for a checkpoint. This will be the first entry into the latest path......Revision 9, supersedes and replaces MK-90LDF063-01... (Disk Local dynamic virtualization for Solaris software for Sun Storage 6000 disk array subsystems). This... path is in the form of... d8a7b2ff72

now that you have the array data, you need to collect the log data. the information you need is the log data. the log data is collected by the cam software. so, run the command supportdata -a -l to collect the log data.
how to set up the servers and the storage array. this is a must read. ive gone through and tested it out and its basically perfect for my system. the only thing im not sure about is the backup of the zfs pool. according to the documentation, the backup software is included in the software package. i have the zfs-fuse package, but its an optional package and no backup software appears to be included. i guess its only important if you need to restore the zfs pool to factory defaults. i have never had to do that, but i figured the backup software is included in the package, or i can download it and use it separately.
