the office of naval research (onr) announced today that it has selected three university of pennsylvania researchers to receive 2013 onr young investigator awards, recognizing their outstanding accomplishments and innovative use of the navy's unique research-focused infrastructure. the onr young investigator award recipients will receive a $100,000 financial award and a one-year membership in the onr young investigators program. the onr young investigator awards are part of the onr's efforts to help educate the next generation of scientific leaders and fill key roles to promote innovation and excellence in science. the onr young investigators program provides short-term opportunities for individual onr grantee investigators to work on outstanding projects through the close collaboration of onr, the national science foundation and industry in applied research areas.
