Puzzle Pirates Gunning Bot
while it is possible to control the barrel and barrel pieces with script, it is not recommended. instead, have the barrel move directly in response to the navigator's rotation of the ship. having the barrel move in response to a script makes it more difficult to control the game. use of a script to control the barrel and barrel pieces could be adjusted to make the barrel a fixed piece, but any rules that make the barrel a fixed piece (such as needing the player to touch it) will interfere with the player's ability to actually use the puzzle to gun.
this can be done by programming the order of the pieces in the order they land. for that to work, the puzzle has to be a regular puzzle that can correctly work out how pieces have landed, and not just a random collection of pieces, or - put another way, the pieces do not just appear in the order they have fallen.
this battle should be attempted by the very best battle navigator with a boat full of the highest skilled pirates. the amount of puzzle balls you need to fill on deck is often the critical difference between winning and losing. most players may be discouraged after an unsuccessful first attempt at this battle, but if you have a very good navigation team, you may be able to get the balls to fill in the last few men before you are forced to switch to the cannon/
agreeable man. ive made this battle my personal favorite. very few battles will ever prove more interesting than this one. to win you must do these 3 things. (1) shoot down as many pirates as possible (a perfect shot will stop the pirates from re-embarking). (2) stay alive. (3) send all the men on your boat to sleep. if you can get a full bingo of your own men on their sleep token, you can almost certainly win. d8a7b2ff72
note: by taking one of the following missions and then canceling it once aboard, pirates can practice any of the other duty stations above, without restrictions. all of these missions contribute to player rating and experience in the specific puzzle and pay a wage relative to the player's performance.
note: a pirate must have at least broad experience in bilge, either sailing or rigging, either carpentry or patching, and gunnery for all advanced navy missions except defeating brigands. all of these missions contribute to player rating and experience in the specific puzzle and pay a wage relative to the player's performance.
this method involves loading 2 cannons, then dismissing the board. if for some reason your pieces get messed up while you are loading the 1st cannon, then you can easily dismiss the board right after the 1st cannon is fully loaded. navy gunning does not have a big penalty for abandoning untouched cannons, so it is perfectly acceptable to dismiss a board even if you've only loaded 1 or 2 cannons.
ship repair: for each puzzle you complete, you get experience points, which are shown on the bottom of your screen. each level you complete will give you more experience points, and the higher the level, the more experience points you will receive for the puzzle. this is great for players looking to get good at the puzzle, or for players who want to get quicker at completing puzzles.
you must pay attention to the gunnery puzzle, and each piece has a job that it must do. if that piece is not done its job, then you are penalized, usually with a deduction of some of your gold. in addition, if you are hit by the piece, it adds to your penalty. if you get hit by the piece and all of its pieces, you get a game over.
