Here are some of the new features in 0.19: I have added several new sounds, all belonging to the "Stick Leg" category. I have also added 5 new crash sounds for various items and vehicles. The default sounds are in the base folder, but there is a sound library folder containing the full gamelibs folder, which is where the new sounds have been placed.
The maps for the default one are all currently playable, and yes, they contain lava. You can see the maps under the "MAPS" folder, which is under the main download folder. The map names are the names of the stations, but the folder name is the map name with the addition of "planet".

Engine modes can be set to multiple speeds. For example, the canister canister atom engine will work in high and low settings, so I can use the low setting for small races, and high setting for a larger boom. I also run the engine in low around the station so that it doesn't run the full speed when I drag it into a pile of objects and then I muck up the landing. I keep the Thrust control low for rocket landings. Also, if you want to boost, you will definitely need to use the drag gauge for that!
I changed from a completely unstickered truck to a pickup truck with a fuel tank in the back. They get a nice bump in performance and are much easier to steer. You can also stuff them full of cargo for an added boost to acceleration.
If I understand correctly, all scripters have to write their mod scripts when they create a new map. That seems like a pain, considering that with no scripters, at this stage of the game most people can't really craft without the scripters. So, if I could just download all the data for the map I create from the game, and drop it into the scripting engine...
In other news, I added GIMP support to the mod. It still doesn't do anything for me, but I thought I'd mention it. (the GIMP is the free graphical image editor package)As for other news, I still haven't managed to get just about every item in the mod working, or even figuring out the game well enough to write my own items. There are still some strays that I haven't figured out.
