ebrowse is a flexible and collaborative collaboration environment for the research community, where students, faculty and the staff from the different yale laboratories meet to share, publish and discuss scientific work. with ebrowse, students can engage more effectively in their research, instructors can better supervise their students and the staff of the different labs can monitor and manage their activities. ebrowse helps community members to collaborate efficiently and freely.
eclipse theia blueprints are templates for building desktop-based products based on the eclipse theia platform, as well as to showcase eclipse theia capabilities. they include a subset of existing eclipse theia features and extensions and can be easily downloaded and installed on all major operating system platforms (see below). documentation is available to help you customize and build your own eclipse theia-based product.
watr’s service blueprint helps you to understand the value of the service we know. it also illustrates the impact of the added value you can provide, measured by the improvements in the quality and accessibility of the service offered to your customers. when used in a corporate context, it is a powerful tool to support the definition of service strategy for a development process. these examples are based on the processes of the yale school of management’s finance department. it’s a two-page document that summarizes the value of the services offered by the services department: the functional areas of operations, sales, finance, hr, etc.
when users interact with your organization, the journey of their experience typically starts with the service touchpoint. each touchpoint represents a unique opportunity to meet the user and connect with them. designing and implementing a touchpoint can be daunting because the touchpoint is an opportunity to provide an experience to the user. in this example we will explore the user journey for a new service we call “uber”. we will also describe the tools used to plan the service experience for the first customer you serve. the uber service journey is broken up into the following steps: showing up, getting to know you, getting a ride, paying & receiving service, regulating discomfort, debating value and celebrating. d8a7b2ff72
blockbuster, once the largest and arguably the most profitable company in the united states, heralded the dawn of the new online era. together with its many partners, blockbuster helped shape the popular culture of the 1990s with a unique brand of world-class entertainment made affordable to a mass audience. recently, the company, the product of a merger between hollywood video and a small, regional chain in 1990, had been in a free fall. blockbuster collapsed, leaving thousands of employees out of jobs and tens of thousands of loyal customers — the soul of the company — without a place to purchase movies.
on august 25, 2008, blockbuster filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy, and nine days later filed a lawsuit against movie gallery, a uk company that it claimed had illegally copied its industry standard cd and dvd rental system. it also contended that movie gallery had engaged in unjust enrichment by drawing on the blockbuster brand for its own benefit and without paying a dime for its services. on may 20, 2009, blockbuster had filed an amended proof of claim against movie gallery, but by then the claim was reduced to $43 million. in response, movie gallery’s claim was amended to $24 million, with 14 million shares of stock valued at around $1 million and a $4.4 million promissory note.
this redesign is based on the inspiration and culture of the brazilian design mfa at bard college. we adopted a minimalistic and modern approach, referencing the furniture, graphics and street art, while also referencing the hand-drawn and handmade quality of the original space. the overall focus is on the uniqueness of the piece and to keep it open and unobstructed. this resulted in exposing all aspects of the desk, including the underside. we utilized a mix of the traditional wood pedestal, a modern steel frame and custom accessories to provide an overall modern space. a new modern lighting fixture was also added to give the new desk a sophisticated look.
