but what i want is something like that when i use the command line sql plus / as sysdba, to simply check if the database is running fine, and if not, show me a list of the packages i need to install to get the database running again. i run the following command and gets the error: error: ora-12512: tns:no listener ora-06512: at "oracle_home\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\db_1 etwork\admin\sqlnet.ora", line 513 ora-20001: dbms_instant_db - instant database is required ora-06512: at "oracle_home\app\oracle\product\11.ora", line 563 ora-06512: at "oracle_home\app\oracle\product\11.ora", line 681 ora-06512: at line 1
i need to know the command line to get what i need to do this. i cant believe that oracle is so bad. i know it is not my job to learn but at least make it easy. i am sure i will have some errors but at least can just fix them with a simple command, and not have to understand all the things.
1. click on the following button: 2. click on the downloads link for the version you want. you can choose from sql plus as a windows service, a standalone windows service, or a windows installer (msi) file.
oracle database 12.2 and 18c are available as a media or ftp request for those customers who own a valid oracle database product license for any edition. to request access to these releases, follow the instructions in oracle support document 1071023.1 (requesting physical shipment or download url for software media) from my oracle support. note: for oracle database 12.2 you should request 12.2.0.1 even if you want to install a later patch set. once you install 12.1 you can then apply any 12.2 patch set. similarly, for 18c request 18c0.1 which must be applied before installing 18c0. patch sets can be downloaded from the patches and updates tab on my oracle support. d8a7b2ff72

Download the Oracle Universal Installer zip from the OTN FAQ page, extract the installer anywhere, then when you get the "Select New Install Location" window, click on "Don't use this folder." Then click OK to continue.
Just use the URL to the 11.2.0.4 release from OTN. Make sure the windows installer is extracted to the appropriate folder. Never set the installer to use a folder, otherwise it will only install that release.
and it is not a plain installation package that you can just unzip the whole thing. If you have not an ORA_HOME set, you need to set or create it and create a blank user and database. you can then build the package as above or you can run the install_DB_files from the 11.2.0.4 release, by default that is where you will find them, but you can also specify the install path or the location. You can create the database schema_migrations from the 11.2.0.4 package if you want to use those. you also need to have the environment variables set correctly in your current Windows user profile. So you can always customize the one you want to install.
The message was “ࣄ..ࢬࣄDatabase 11.2.0.4 not found“, but the “Instance’ was “Oracle Database 11.2.0.4“, so I continued anyway. Even after the s/64/32 I still got the “Instance’ as “Oracle Database 11.2.0.4“. But finally the “Instance’ could be updated to point to the 11.2.0.4 “Database”, with
“C:\Users\hilb\AppData\Local\Temp\CwBg_Windows-0n.sql“ - “C:\Oracle\oradata\system11.2.0.4.1\user_projects\domains\oradata\db_name“ - “C:\Oracle\oradata\system11.2.0.4.1\db_home\db_name“ - “C:\Oracle\ora11.2.0.4.0\product\11.2.0.4\db_home“ - “C:\Oracle\ora11.2.0.4.0\product\11.2.0.4\bin\product“ - “C:\Oracle\ora11.2.0.4.0\sqlplus.exe“ - “/ password: “ - “shutdown immediate“
