Agree. Could be. I believe the main difference is that she plays an entirely different instrument (trumpet) and she is a female.
Ah, I think you may be right about that. I’m not a trumpet player, but I did learn trumpet on my own for a while, and had to learn to play that way.
BTW, the way we play trumpet in public is a bit different than private practice. In public, it’s usually for a marching band, so it’s a lot quieter, and far less technical; in private it’s more like the way I play myself, so it’s much busier and technical. I guess you just have to ask yourself if your instrument is more like a trumpet or like a piano? I would say you play a lot like a trumpet, so it’s not that much of a surprise to me that you’re used to playing like one, but since I don’t play anything like one, you’re playing far more like a piano.

In the end it is just a matter of opinion, as though people think that one keyboard is better than the other, they will not be aware of that fact. It's all about what you want to achieve, then you just need to adapt the instrument you are using to your needs.
I know now what you mean. With my grandaughter I took her to a place for violin players, and she started playing an instrument I had never seen before. At first she knew it only as a xylophone, but then, after a couple of months, she started coming up with a way to play it.
Here I started thinking again. What is the main difference between a xylophone and an Indian zither? I was just making her think about differences in sound, but this made me think of differences in feel as well. She could very easily start playing something like
