the problem is my bios won't allow me to boot from a usb device, but i think that's because of the ram limitations of my computer, i'll have to look into it. when i boot the computer, it gives me a grub prompt, which i am going to try and manually load windows 98 using the windows 98 startup disk.
i've got a 4gb usb thumbdrive, and a 10gb hard drive. my computer doesn't have a floppy drive (it is too old), so i just use my harddrive. i have windows 98 installed on the harddrive, and i want to install windows me on the usb thumbdrive. i created a bootable windows 98 startup disk and tried to boot from it. i get a message that says "there is no operating system" and boots me to the first menu where i can choose to try again, or try to run the setup.
