Guru is a 2007 Indian drama film directed and co-written by Mani Ratnam. It was produced by Mani Ratnam and his brother G. Srinivasan under their production. The plot of the film tells the story of a young man named Sushant who was abused as a child and his daughter Rohini. He becomes a police officer to investigate the murder of his father. He sees more and more lives crippled by violence, and he fights with anger. He also meets and falls in love with a woman named Milind, but she refuses him and he returns to his work.
The film was released on 10 April 2007 and won a BAFTA and a Golden Oscar.
